The Loving Arms Foundation is a nonprofit organization currently serving the greater Essex and Union County areas. The organization was founded by Tina Thomas who has both the practical experience and the education to lead the organization.

Until our business is completely functional and housing young adults, we assist families in need in many areas.  Based on the need, each family requires personalized care to best fit them.  Our intention is two-fold; we initiate charity donations and charity events to raise money to assist families financially and we raise awareness in doing so.

We see families through their life struggles with love, compassion, understanding and determination from start to finish.  Our goal is to help the family overcome their needs/crisis to the best of our ability.  We have close working relationships with several health care organizations, Horizon BCBSNJ, Susan G. Komen and a few hospitals in Essex and Union Counties.

These relationships enable us to go the distance for the families we work with.  We’ve found that there are programs that families aren’t aware of to assist them so we become their guide to services and see them through.

Keys to Success

  • Build a strong, active Board of Trustees.
  • Ensure that the offered services satisfy market needs.
  • Design and implement strict financial controls and accountability.

  • Secure sufficient funding, both start up and operational.
  • Locate a building that provides housing with enough room for 1:1 Counseling and educational programs and offer a variety of empowering skills.
  • Develop a strong Board of Trustees that can offer guidance, help with fundraising efforts, and oversee the smooth operation of the organization.

The Loving Arms Foundation has identified two distinct market segments of customers based on age; those who are under 30 and those who are 30 and over. The under 30 age group is growing annually at 9%, and the 30 and over age group is growing at 8%. The two groups respectively have 165,454 and 158,745 potential clients. The overwhelming majority of clients come from lower socio-economic population groups. These segments can be difficult to communicate with yet their use of Transitional Housing’s services would give them some profound benefits.
